Bridgeport

The morning sun illuminated the Lower Twin Lake like a mirror, this is a place we'd been before.

Our own secret beach in the mountains. I sat on a rock for a while and filtered some water and wrote. After some time relaxing we drove down the road and got to hiking. We headed up the Matterhorn trail, we'd hiked a little of it before. We went much further today and with our full backpacks.

It unexpectedly brought us to the most beautiful mountain paradise, with big snowy jagged peaks, green grass and flowers, a huge waterfall pouring down the cliffs. We stopped hiking at a place where the stream diverged. It was a great spot, we forded the stream and camped out on a little island.

We made a small fire and cooked some rice, tomatoes, mushroom, pepper jack, broccoli, avocado. It was great and then we hiked down. We went back to the same place we'd been that morning, our secret paradise beach and went swimming.

The water was very cold and the wind was blowing but the sun had been out and it had been hot all day. We had to work up the nerve but we both jumped in and it felt great to dry off in the sunshine. Then we even were able to split a 5-minute coin shower and it was a really nice one and we both felt great. We went to town and I took too long writing this freakin blog and it got dark on us. We were pretty tired. We drove to Mono Lake and were asleep by 10 p.m.. It was a really good day!
